Part 6: God Desires to Save All

February 8, 2026

Book: 1 Timothy

Scripture: 1 Timothy 2:1-7

Introduction:

1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, and Titus are three pastoral letters that the aged apostle Paul sent to those who would continue his work. Timothy was Paul’s spiritual son. Young but exceptional–Timothy was the leader of the church at Ephesus. The church needed structure in worship as well as doctrinal correction. It was plagued with false teachers. In this letter, Paul counseled Timothy on matters of church leadership—from proper worship to qualifications for overseers (elders) and deacons to advice on confronting false teaching and treating various individuals within a congregation. Paul charged Timothy to live a life beyond reproach, setting a standard for believers to emulate.
