Calvary Temple Church FishNet Group Program Minimize

The time has arrived for a positive transformation to occur and for each member of Calvary Temple to collectively engage in current and future ministries of the church that will assist the successful achievement of the Pastor's vision and mission for the church.  The positive transformation will include, but not limited to:

  • cultivation of stronger relationship as brothers and sisters in Christ
  • commitment to excellence
  • meeting spiritual needs of others through prayer
  • keeping self and self interest aside
  • development of leaders who will positively represent Calvary Temple inside and outside of the church
  • create the environment that will help new and current members to feel connected to the church and to each other
  • consistently reminding ourselves that it is not about 'me'
  • create an environment in the church for members and visitors to feel welcomed and valued.

Of course, there is no one effort that can accomplish all of the above; however, the proposed FishNet initiative will be instrumental to assist the church in moving forward.

Ground rules for small group discussions.

  1.  Listen Actively; respect others when they are talking, do not interrupt.
  2. Speak from your own experience instead of generalizing, ('I' instead of 'they', we instead of 'you').
  3. Practice timely attendance.
  4. Do not be afraid to respectfully challenge one another by asking questions, but refrain from personal attacks, focus on the vision and mission of the church.
  5. Participate to the fullest of your ability, community and relationship growth depends on the inclusion of ever individual.
  6. Instead of validating somebody else's story with your own spin on their experience, share your own story and experience.
  7. Please remember it is not about you, but what is best for God and Calvary Temple and your contributions to make it happen.
  8. Be conscious of body language and non-verbal responses, they can be as disrespectul as words.
  9. Please keep the conversation in the room.
  10. Try not to take things personally.
